When your teenager will soon be moving away from home to attend college, you'll want to do all that you can to ensure that they're prepared. This often means taking one or more shopping trips in your community. Think about the many useful stores that your local shopping center has. While your teen will probably want to shop for new clothing on their own, you both may enjoy the idea of visiting the mall together so that you can buy a variety of items that your teen will use in the coming years. Kitchenware Store
A stop at the shopping center's kitchenware store should be on your list, as it will provide all of the items that your teen will need for their new life at college. If the teen is staying in a dorm, they may not need to cook meals for themselves. However, there are still some things that you can buy. Glasses, bowls, and cutlery will likely come in handy, while you should also think about what small appliances may be appropriate in a dorm room. Your teen may want a bar-sized fridge and a microwave. Provided that the college allows these items in its dorm rooms, you can buy them at your mall's kitchenware retailer.
Luggage Store
Children often use the family's luggage during travel, but moving away to college can be a good time for your child to get their own luggage. Most malls have at least one store that sells luggage, so you can visit it with your teen to buy a set. A large suitcase and a carry-on sized suitcase will be a good choice. Not only can your teen pack the luggage for the trip to college, but they may occasionally take school trips or trips with friends in the months ahead.
